I'd agree with Mick about keeping EBB's clean and well looked after. It depends on the type of EBB to some extent, but ones that don't use split shells or grub screws to hold them, such as the Niner style rely on pretty tight tolerance to stop them slipping. If they're not taken out now and then to clean both the BB shell and the EBB itself, they can seize badly and take a fair bit of swearing and heavy handed techniques to shift them.
So long as you keep them sweet though they're no problem. -

So I ended up with this... thing.
It's comically small, but the frame is from a limited run art series between the graffiti artist MISK and BE.bike or something like that, so I guess I'll keep it. Main goal ATM is de-uglifying it and forcing it to fit me, because why not.

I'm not opposed to an EBB, I'd just rather stick with what I know (shimano QR and a chaintug) if I had the choice.
