Annoying that they still install the very impractical 'fin' style stands. (List of charges: hard to lock bikes facing both directions, tubing is slightly too thick for small locks to lock front wheel and frame, the 'brand plate' (for want of a better word) gets in the way of locks.)

Maybe, but these will be there for a long time just because designers think they look more 'stylish' than better-quality stands and will be guaranteed to annoy several cyclists a day. They're also more expensive per unit than better stands.
