Last year I went from a CAAD 4 (which was stolen) to a Carbon Synapse 2015. It won bike of the year a few times so thought I go for it. It was difficult to get used to the more upright riding position but it's more comfortable than the CAAD4 now I have it dialled in. One of the reasons I got it was to be able to fit mud guards in the winter. It's my commuter, trainer, sportive and tourer and does all these things quite well.
I do miss the more aggressive riding position at times but I can stay in the drops for longer on the Synapse without a sore back. I got mine from Paul's Cycles at a decent discount as it was the 2015 model in 2016.
I'm looking at getting a new road bike. At the moment I'm tossing up between the CAAD and the Synapse. Any preferences?
They have a sale on at Hargroves and looking at getting this on the cycle scheme. Both versions have 105 groupset and disc but I'm also kinda thinking about the Tiagra as well. Any insight would be great. Cheers
