my main reason for not having a front derailleur is that im too cheap to pay for a di2 one that I'd never use in a race, the small drag saving is a bonus, some custom made fancy thing would cost at least as much as a di2 front so I'd probably just get one of those!

@Sainsburys_Ed if you can find a recent drive side photo of Mark Jones then he has an interesting looking chain catcher... I saw it at a couple of local club TTs but don't have any pics. It was probably custom, but still looked fast.
