If we discount time bonuses, Froome took time out of Uran and Bardet in 4 stages. They took time out of him on one stage.

The bulk of the prize money goes to the top 5 on GC and the classification winners. Sky took so much because Froome won €500k for winning, plus Landa would've won approx €75k for fourth.

I look forward to a tour when the GC jersey is less improtant and the KOM, sprint and stages are the main goals.
I think we might see a trend towards this. I think it would make the racing a lot better.

I think Froome is the 7th rider to win the Tour without winning a stage. Oscar Periero in 2006 was the last, Lemond in 1990 the one after that.

Plus winning the team classification must have helped. And their one stage win.

I had them up on Twitter: constant negative reporting of Sky yet they ran a gushing article about Roche's triple crown a few days before.

Awesome result for Cannondale, let hope they can fund some more support for Uran for the next season.

I reckon he deserves a break.
