What a champ.

Landa is going to be replaying a lot of the race in his mind right now thinking back to moments he could have scraped a second or two out.
-
• #3854
Nah. 3rd is not even first of the losers. No one remembers who came third.
-
• #3855
I want to see the best cyclists in the World going faster than I can ever dream of, not struggling up an unnecessary hill on the wrong bikes.
-
• #3856
The people who came in third do. And that's now not him.
Glad Bardet got it.

• #3857
Great time for Bertie there

• #3858
MK faster than Froome in a TT whut

Kwiat has been an absolute monster in this tour. Totally buried himself in the mountains and yet still has the ability to recover and smash it in the TT.
Is the world's course this year favourable for him? -
• #3860
Would have been happy for Froome to have made the catch, just to piss of the crowd.
Did Bardet have mechanical issues with front mech / rings perhaps? He totally mugged himself.
-
• #3861
Gutted for Landa, one bloody second away from podium! :(
-
• #3862
Is the seatpost on Uran's bike mounted backwards?

I am new to this whole 'cycling' thing, is there also an unsaid rule about not contesting GC in Paris? Surely a 1 second is possible to gain for a double podium for sky?
-
• #3864
He looked a bit manic from the off, throwing himself everywhere. Trying to do that climb in the big ring was just silly-properly ruined himself before he even got half way. He could have done a far better time if he'd just chilled out a bit I think.

Still faster than you can ever dream of going up that hill on any bike.

• #3866
It's a sprint stage. So it's less about contesting and more about potentially not being able to keep up.
-
• #3867
Literally impossible to gain 1 second for Landa over Bardet?
-
• #3868
Bodnar averaged 47.8 km/h for that stage. I suggest you try and go and do that for 28 minutes on a flat course tomorrow.
-
• #3869
Definitely not impossible.
-
• #3870
Breakaway tomorrow :-)
-
• #3871
It's probably possible, whether Sky and/or Landa would want to is another matter.
-
• #3872
With a sprint finish, Landa just needs to tag onto the back of one of the trains and hope someone lets a gap drift away somewhere between him and Bardet.
-
• #3873
Chilling was his problem ...
Correct gearing > Ice vest
-
• #3874
When was the last time a break got away on the last stage? Never?
Unless landa has been hiding some sprint skills going to be difficult for him to grab some bonus seconds. Furthermore sky will do themselves no favours with the french public if they do manage to pull off some stunning upset and push bardet off the podium. For a rider who is leaving at the end of the season...
All seems a stretch.

And Bardet "just needs to tag onto the back of" Landa's wheel.
