This is one of the bikes I have just brought back from France, purchased from its original owner.
This is a 1989 MBK Super Record in extremely bright fluorescent, in Hi-Tensile 707 Tubing, 54.5cm square so good for someone around 5ft8.
54.5cm, centre to centre, for both seat tube and top tube - with mudguard eyes so you can fit them in the future.
The original fluoro colours are still as bright as they first were with a small amount of scrapes and marks and no dents. No rust to be seen. All in, a very presentable bike!
I have just lightly cleaned, upgraded and serviced so it is ready to roll.
Gearset is 2x6 speeds with Shimano 600 cranks / 600 RD (new jockey wheels) / Sach Huret FD (Shimano 600 will also be provided) / Simplex SLJ downtube levers / Atom freewheel / new cables fitted / bottom bracket has been serviced.
Brakes are Shimano 600 with great pads and new inner/outer cables.
Wheels are low end NEWSTAR hubs on steel clincher rims. Tyres are good used Michelin Lithion 700x23mm in yellow.
Cockpit is 90mm quill stem on 42cm bars with Shimano SLR aero levers (new third party hoods), wrapped in new Fizik Fluoro Orange 2mm Superlight tape.
-Saddle is a Vetta SP and seatpost is quill (26.0mm IIRC).
Being picky, I would say that the bottom bracket spindle is a tad long at 126mm and could be replaced by a 118mm. I would also swap the wheels for alloy ones to imporve braking in the wet. But the bike is riding very well as it is.
The are mudguard eyes so it would be relatively easy to fit 28mm tyres & mudguards.
Price wise, I am after SOLD FOR £200 with some original spares.
Test rides from Stoke Newington, which is in north London, between Dalston and Highbury & Islington.
