But Uran didn't get one either. (Well he did, but the commissaries rescinded it the next morning).

I got up late on Wednesday and missed my window for a morning poo before the coverage started. By the time the window opened again in the evening I was so full I strained my back with the effort.
They say the Tour is hard on the riders but spare a thought for the viewers too. -

There is a pretty nasty hill in the TT, short but will really test riders pacing. And I guess a descent on TT bikes always has a chance for mistakes.

looks like there have been two mid race abandons today, seems strange not to go the rest of the way to Paris now given that today looks like it'll be a roll around the French countryside, you could soft pedal for 22km tomorrow and get to finish the TDF, can only presume they are either really suffering or hoping to do well in the post TDF crits...?

hoping to do well in the post TDF crits...?
Haha. Like they are real races that riders actually target!
I imagine they are ill/utterly empty. Ondrej Cink was one abandon I think? This is his first ever season on the road, so to even start the Tour is a phenomenal achievement.

Mental
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/ondrej-cink-the-accidental-worldtour-pro/
"Cink, who hasn't raced on the road – save for the odd amateur criterium in the Czech Republic – for the best part of eight years, will find himself in a WorldTour peloton when he kicks off his road career at the Tour Down Under in January"

Timo Roosen as well...

• #3746
Cink was doing pretty well, 66th on GC last night edit and he was in the break and finished 17th on Izoard!

You cannot really soft pedal in the ITT otherwise you will miss the time cut.

From letour.fr:-
"
Ondrej Cink had a knee in pain
15:32Questioned by FranceTelevisions, Bahrain-Merida's sport director Philippe Mauduit explained that Ondrej Cink was forced to pull out because of a knee injury. "The pain was so big that he couldn't push even on the flat", the Frenchman said. He also underlined that it's not the Tour de France but the Tour of suffering for Bahrain-Merida since day 1 when they lost their leader Ion Izagirre in a crash in the inaugural time trial in Düsseldorf.

Nice shot of voekler emptying can of coke and handing it back to the team car.
The 20 second penalty he should have got.
