I remember hearing in the Tour of California the commentator asking how detrimental is the event issue skin suit and who ever was answering the questions said they normally have made to measure versions for the top couple of contenders for each jersey to avoid the problem

Still not as aero as most team's suits though. I remember Wiggo was wearing a leader's skinsuit in one of the stage races he won in 2012, either the Dauphine or Romandie, and it was so see-through it gave my female housemate quite the shock. You could count the hairs around his winky.
Not relevant but hey, anecdotes.

I seem to remember that sky had a seamstress/stet at the tour a couple of years ago to adapt the tour issue suit to fit froome to minimise the penalty of not having the full custom suit!

I think Froome's skinsuit will have less of an impact on his time than Uran's Cannondale will have on his. Which is probably all that matters.
-
• #3681
Disappointing that no-one could gap Froome today, but I suppose he/Sky have just been that good.
-
• #3682
Just can't warm to him - did feel sorry for him when all that booing happened though.
-
• #3683
Could be almost the same drag penalty from a fast&slow suit as there is between framesets.
-
• #3684
Cannondale will be very very happy with a CG second in this race.
-
• #3685
IIRC the tour had that last year for all the classification leaders skinsuits

JV = "Pierre who?"

Highlights show, nice moment from TdG giving Barguill a pat and a handshake. Those two have been excellent this tour.
-
• #3688
A very well deserved KOM.
the prix combative or whatever is decided by a jury, right? are they going to look at anyone else than de gendt at all? barguil perhaps.

Ten Dam and Geschke. Winning the Giro and two jerseys in this race.

• #3690
AC, I guess.
Or not? -

Barguil has been amazing in this tour. I had written him off as over hyped - boy was I wrong.

He might fall off or get a puncture or something.
Still all to play for.

Barguil won me £50 quid today so he's got my love, respect and admiration...
Tomorrow a suitable day for Cummings? Would also love to see Tony Martin have another go at TT-ing off the front. Or Matthews invoking another slap from Degenkolb.

That Argon 18 of Lutsenko looks pretty wobbly when climbing. Shit bike or very ugly climbing style?
-
• #3696
I hope Froome wins the stage to top off his victory.
-
• #3697
Landa can probably TT well enough to knock Bardet from the podium?
-
• #3698
I'm (unfairly) presuming Bardet is a rubbish. I've not paid attention for two years.
-
• #3699
Well he is French
-
• #3700
Unlikely. Neither are great shakes on a TT bike, but I can't see Landa pulling back 1:13 in 22 kms.
Froome could ride around on a cheap hire bike eating an ice cream and he'd still win the Tour.
