An ex-colleague of my wife (who works in retail) now works at Rapha and says they have massive problems with unsold stock. They have that outlet store, but there's also tonnes of it just lying in storage because selling it off at massive markdown is damaging to the brand.

A common problem for most medium-high tier brands. I'm sure their new Bicester store will help clear some of the stock

For the uninitiated, Rapha had a section on it's website called "archives" (euphemistic code for SALE) where they sold off their pricey clobber at cut prices. The archive link was always impossible to locate on the site but it would now appear that it's been done away with altogether.
So, between concerns of global famine, the Syrian crisis and an impending nuclear apocalypse has anyone else noticed this?
