Great work by Pantano there, eked out another 20-30 seconds for Contador.

attacking the pack no doubt

I'm stuck in live text and they said UAE are riding at the front of the sky train in pursuit? Is that really happening?
-
• #3384
Yes. Protecting Meintjes' 8th place overall.
For shame.

Is it that bad? I get what Millar was saying a few minutes ago, but if you're never going to defend any position except top 3 (?), then whats the point in continuing to race GC once it's apparent you can't win?
-
• #3386
never say can't..

Contadors chain skipped and got stuck according to his DS

I can understand why they do it, UCI points are valuable and finishing in the top ten brings valuable points. But it's very negative racing and, more importantly, gives Sky a free ride for a bit. Wouldn't it be better for UAE if Landa had to get used earlier, with the likelihood he drops down the GC?

Is that an artist's impression? If you drew it yourself it needs poo.

• #3390
the gap is growing, Contador to win the stage ?
-
• #3391
It depends when the GC race starts.

I think Roglic has got the stage tbh. He's a mad descender and so strong over the summit.
Edit; Haven't seen the roadbook though, is it a technical descent?
-
• #3397
Cheers. Hope he can hold position today.
-
• #3398
First 8 kms are quite technical, but not hugely so, then it's a wise main road with a headwind today. It might not favour the lone attacker.
-
• #3399
Roglic is a v good time triallist though... If he can go the summit alone he might make it.

Dan Martin attacks
Aru (and possibly others) with a 54 om the front for max speed on the descents
