You're assuming in British. Maybe I just don't like triathletes.
(I am British. Some triathletes aren't too bad).

I don't think his team is strong enough.

Unlike everyone else in the top ten he rode the Giro as a GC contender. (And before some smart arse says Landa, he rode GC for 9 stages, then took aim at specific stages after his overall classification chances were ended).

Could Quintana go as Trek? It's being speculated it's berties last tour, mainly fueled by his DS saying as much
-
• #3282
Pinot has said in the French press today that he won't ride the Giro and the Tour double again, as he's knackered. We've barely seen him in the Tour, yet Quintana finished as the Giro runner up and is still in the top ten at the Tour. He's class, and would be an asset to any team.

Segafredo, the co-sponsor, would like an Italian GC rider, and they hoped to sign Aru. I don't think they can afford him and Contador though and the latter has exercised his option to stay for 2018. So I can't see how they can afford Quintana.
They've fucked up really, as Contador is clearly on a downward spiral and doesn't justify Tour winning wages any more.

I'm being hopeful rather than serious.

quick wikid?
I'm agreeing with you - it's toeing.

• #3287
I'd love a quick wikid.

Assume I never assume.
"You lot" was nothing to do with British btw it was "all youz cunce that comment in 'ere".
If I cared about your Britishness I'd have said "that Belgian rider and that African rider" because you Brits love being reminded all your talent is from immigrants. #BrokenBrexit :-*

I don't know if Contador is in a downward spiral. Bike-handling/focus wise maybe, so it's hard to compare to the other contenders after all those crashes, but his power is better than ever he claims.

• #3290
still in the top ten at the Tour
Wait for it...

I still can't quite work it out. I think I might have to have a madeleine.

Kiwi wasn't he?
Oh, I don't know, those Southern Hemispherers all look and sound the same to me.

I was aware Aru was also on the market but hadn't realised Trek wanted an Italian. Sounds like Contador in 2018 will stop riding grand tours as he isn't insterested if he can't contest a win, so seems Trek have to find some more money.
-
• #3294
The evidence suggests strongly that his power isn't better than ever (unless he's moved to using a Stages?). He's clearly not the rider he was, if he was capable of winning the Tour, he'd not have got the leeway he received on stage 12.

I love that Austrian sense of humour.

Don't forget that the other one is Maltese.

According to RCN, Quintana has two offers on the table, one from Astana and one from Sky.
-
• #3299
Letting it be known that Sky are 'interested' in your rider must be every agent's first negotiating tactic now.

Matt Rendell pouring cold water on the 'rumours'.
Would quintana get faster if he went to sky? He'd never be more than a super Dom at the tour for sky. He might get a chance to lead at the vuelta.
