The reason why Theoazb said that was because a thief that searches for the frame number will find this thread and will be able to monitor what happens, perhaps even posing as an 'honest' finder to claim the reward. That said, as the bike is very distinctive they'll probably be able to find it, anyway. Good luck with recovering it!

thank you! luckily i have his face on cctv and the police is already doing the job finding him, obviously takes a bit of time but im able to tell the face so ill give him the reward if he asks for it, a very deep reward . true tho, i understand.

So they get a mate to return it do, file the number off etc. Either way, you're not really going to harm yourself by removing the frame number from your post.
