I was very very sceptical about the whole #steelisreal brigade, but having ridden top level modern steel for a bit now, they're completely right. Insanely comfortable, really rewarding of a bit of grunt. The weight penalty isn't worth considering. Absolutely blissful ride quality.
did 1000km and 26,000m of climbing in 5 days in Spain and it didn't put a foot wrong. Was incredibly comfortable and climbs really well. Managed to hammer a couple of top 10s and a KOM in up 12% climbs.
eTap is fucking amazing. It's really sensitive to set up, and likes a ludicrously tight chain, but when it works it is absolutely faultless. Shifts quickly, silently and even under full-grunt load.
It just about fits 28s. Thats on 25mm wheels though, and still rubs a little at times but it's so fucking comfortable that it's worth it. I might get some 9100 calipers to give me a bit more space. Will probably buy some 26s when I wear out these S Works turbos, just for fit.
Generally, best bike I've ever ridden, and I've ridden a lot of good bikes.
It looks great too. I don't often get jelly of forum bikes (not enough of a buyer) but this really does it for me. Really nice frame, build and I'd love eTap (and 953!).
Shame it doesn't have a tiny bit more clearance but you can't have everything...
It fucking bangs.

N.B. last bike was a Cannondale Supersix.
