I don't have an allotment, but do use the back garden in Peckham to grow a bit. Got summer squash coming out my ears ATM!

I was thinking about a chutney; love the stuff and can't it lasts forever. Spicier the better! I was thinking pickling them but can't find a recipe that allows you to keep out of the fridge, or one which keeps all winter!
Is that rhubarb in you picture? How come you've removed the roots as well?

I'm just about to leave Hampstead, where the waiting list for an allotment plot is eighty years. That's eight-zero years. Because Hampstead is full of organic twats and has about twelve plots.

Right allotment folk. I'm pretty new to this.
I've got some empty space where we've been digging up potatoes.
What should I plant in their place? -

It doesn't matter at all really, but there is quite a lot of useful content in the other thread, which people may find useful if they are new to allotmenting.
Plus it was started by @big_daddy_wayne who is no longer with us and is much missed, and it's heartwarming to see his name pop up on the forum from time to time.
This forum doesn't really have an official anything, so I'm not sure it warrants an official allotment thread.

I was given some ex commercial strawberry plants about 10 years ago that were deemed 'over'. They have been planted in one garden, uprooted, moved to a new garden, replanted and they are still producing. They have only started to look like they are struggling this year but that could be due to my complete lack of care and attention!
