I think Zipp would suit this best. Would have to be the full bongo carbon Ritchey kit otherwise.

Please no wide bars again! Even if you don't do track, don't you like going fast on a fast bike?
-
• #30
Wide bars stop you going fast?
-
• #31
They encourage you to do mad whip skids. Which slow you down obviously.
-
• #32
don't you people split lanes while going fast?
-
• #33
May have been an exaggeration, obvs you can still go fast but there's a reason nobody uses widebars in track racing and it's called aerodynamics.
-
• #34
Yeah risers on this would suck.

okay, fair enough, my explanation was admittedly poor. But still, narrower and deeper usually means better aero, I don't think I have to explain that. @umop3pisdn any particular reason why you don't use wide risers when time-trialling? My guess would bethat it has to do with aero and speed, non?

Its against the rules

I'm just kidding by the way. I understand what you're saying

aerodynamics
tell me more

I'm sure you know a lot more about it than I do. I can only speak from my own experience which is that a bike will be noticably slower when you change from drops to flatbars which results in a larger effective frontal area. http://www.cyclingpowerlab.com/CyclingAerodynamics.aspx
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_equationI'll drop out of the discussion (which I started, sorry for that) now since it appears equally obvious and pointless + I don't want to derail vince's thread any longer.

So should I switch from wide risers to Jones H-Bars?
Will I be faster?
Disclaimer: I am not fast regardless of the bar type

Isn't there lightweight stuff called something like American Industries (edit duh, American Classic)? Are they, like, American?
-

I have loads of stuff to shift first though...
-
• #48
Please only get Enve stuff if you promise to Sharpie the logos or cover them in black repro decals, (or better yet sand them off) because their logo looks gash :-D
