He gave up yellow deliberately yesterday, knowing that he will be able to lose further time on the TT. This means his credibility will be damaged, which means in his next GT, he might be able to get some time without being so closely marked. Then he'll have the leaders jersey when he's got a stronger team to support him.
It's obvious when you think about it.
I'm loving the idea that he gave up the race leadership on purpose. After the fact spin at its worst.
I'd love to know where he expects to gain the 90 seconds he now needs to beat Froome.
Today's stage could be interesting, it's one where you're not going to win the Tour, but you might lose it. Aru is rumoured to be tired, Quintana said he was tired yesterday, so a well timed move could eliminate some of the existing top ten.
