Thanks for volunteering!

I'd personally agree with you, but it didn't work as an argument for critical mass...

fuck organising it. i really enjoyed it this year and having not done it since 2009 was glad to see it was the same perfect shambles it needs to be.
losers in cars are just that.
still not loving police

I'd argue that it's a very different type of ride

Causing offence and nuisance by littering and making a noise are what numpties do. No amount of flyering/marshalling/advising and guiding will change the behaviour of a lout. As ever, it's the crabshite for brains minority who tarnish the reputation of the law abiding civil majority (this could be the rlj thread). Ain't never ever gonna change. I pick up other people's litter. Makes me feel good. I ask people to keep their drunken noise down on trains. Got punched once. Hasn't stopped me. Some people are scum. They will always exist to exercise our patience and cause frustration.
Right. That's better. Off to lunch. I've worked up an appetite getting that off my chest. Big Mac I think. Large fries. And a rubbish bin on the way back to work. -

Also, 'crabshite' made me laugh :)

All of this.
Look at the Tweed Run. The first 2 or 3 runs were just gatherings, the first 2 without organisation, and were in the right spirit.
Then came organisation, then corporate and tickets appeared, then having to get on line to get the ticket.
Quickly lost its appeal, and I have not been back since 2011.The DD should remain in its current format, simply just a night ride to the coast.

Greetings Jonny,
I hope all is well... Loved your match report and completely echo your sentiments here....
Glad you have resurrected your DD career after a gap. On that tip, I am 50 next year and strongly thinking of giving it another go after a bit of a gap... So I'll see you at the 8.30 pm start time slot for the fully marshalled and babylon-ed / policed roads closed Dunwich Sportif with tickets at £100 a pop, proudly sponsored by KPMG.
Got plenty of time to practice my gel wrapper discarding technique and obsessive garmin watching riding style, so I completely miss the whole point of the wonderful adventure.
Better go, training to do...
Peace and love to all,
Tim -

Sorry Tim. Event insurance doesn't cover old gits. You can appear as a litter picker in London Fields. Send your CV to.........
From another much older git who missed this year to attend a 90th birthday party but did it previous 3 and rinsed it (am not too old to use yoof words innit).

TimHere you see me heading back to Westleton as there are reports of a Dull-wich parakeet club rider having dropped a gel wrapper outside The Crown public house.

The overwhelming consensus is that the dynamo is fine as it is.
And I have to agree as I have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. I wouldn't like it to evolve because it would cease being what it actually is, and why it is loved. But as it grows the number of inconsiderate twats also grows and the local nimbies get louder I hope this does not cause a problem for the silent majority that have and cause no problems, both participants and residents.
It'll all be fine until these nimbies get organised, remember that the east west superhighway almost never got built because a handleful of very well connected and organised individuals hated the idea. I know it's a different kettle of fish but i feel it best to nip the issue at the bud. -

Done... nothing more to add.
Looking forward to DD2018 -

Good going! You lay down the law!

Love the chaos and the twats, it's like real life
lol
My god, there's barely anything that is completely unorganised and free from the creeping tentacles of money in London, hope DD doesn't change in future

Does anyone have a map I can use to stick into google? I am doing lots of motorbike rides out to Suffolk and bored to death of the A12. Now the weather is picking up a bit I might do the scenic route there or back
-

This is the RWGPS route, I think there are ways to get that into GMaps.

No thread for this year?
The banner sounds a great idea.
