I picked this up last year in a shed found state and cleaned it up over winter but it's sadly too small for my stupidly tall body.

Early 50's 23" Hercules Aston Club with original Flamboyant Magenta finish and decals. Paint is in great bright condition but with the odd scratch and chip as to be expected for a 60-odd year frame.

Dunlop Lightweight 26” X 1 ¼” rims with very rare and desirable Harden Flywate hub (cup and cone rather than the sealed bearings). The Rear is a flip-flop hub currently set-up as fixed only (15T). The chrome rims have shined up a treat but there is slight bit of flaking to the rear rim (see photo). The wheels have been trued (but not over tightened) and the hubs serviced.

lovely Hercules fluted cottered crank. 46T

Very rare John Bull “Light Speed” tyres. Research would suggest that these tyres haven’t been produced for 50-60 years. They still hold air and felt good for the mile I rode round the block but I wouldn’t risk them at Light Speed. I would imagine that these are collectable as I’ve never seen a pair come up for sale. Replacement tyres are cheaply available (£10-15 each).

    Lovely GB Spearpoint Stem

GB Coureur Plus calipers with original the Hercules levers and outer cables.

Bluemels Mudguards (I’ll also include a rear Bantel “Beau Garde” which came with the bike)

    Hercules “Kestrel” leather saddle

1980s MKS quill pedals (it was pedal-less when I got it).

New Velox bartape, cables and tubes.

I have the original rusty Hercules stem and calipers and a rear Bantel “Beau Garde” mudguard which are also included in the sale (you can even have the 1950’s/60s pink Michelin inner tubes).

Kind of difficult to price this... the wheelset and tyres would be worth a 100quid+ to a collector.

    ...How about £175?
