Where do you recommend getting quality powder coating done?

I live in Manchester, so I use Ashton Powder Coaters if that's any use to you. They actually did the orange which is currently on the bike.

Right, I want to ride this down to Arctangent festival so need to get going.
Frameset is in the lab ready to be lugged over to the powder coaters next week.

Absolutely recommend Cane Creek 40, use a proper tool for the crown race otherwise you'll ruin the seal

Neither of the powder coaters I know of up here have the colour. Damn.

Found a supplier, will be calling the friendly one back on Monday and discussing them buying the colour in.
£24 for 1kg of the stuff, seems okay.

Not sure if a PCrer's equipment would be tailored to using a particular type or composition of powder/plastic. Worth an email to see if they'd be ok using it.

Would cost an extra £60 for that specific colour, so I'm going to go for RAL 1033 instead, might be dropping it off tomorrow if I can get the headset out today!

They don't have it in stock and would need to buy a 5 kg powder for it apparently. I'm sure it wouldn't use the full 5 kg so it's a bit frustrating that they'd make me pay for the whole thing
I don't mind though, RAL 1033 looks pretty sweet!

That sucks! Stockport PC said the same to me a few years ago (coincidentally how I discovered Ashton; they were the only local PCer with that grey powder I like [7000] in stock at the time). A bike will only use a few hundred grams of powder (EDIT: incl. wastage, still def. less than a kilo). Presumably, if the colour is similar to a more popular one they already have, they're unwilling to order 5kg of something they may not get another order for. Also, maybe their equipment is set up for 5kg buckets, i.e., that's the smallest (or only) size of container that can be used with their equipment (and they CBA dispensing 1kg into an empty bucket because cleaning/contamination/... They must have decided in the past that it's more hassle than it's worth).

2 week turn-around so I really need to get it there asap to get it built in time for the festival.

Very industrial, but at the same time kinda earthy. I like it!

A guy in my lab said 'it'll get dirty well' which I thought was fitting
