In order to achieve scientifically accurate studies I assume he would have to crash at least 20x with alternately the original or fake oakleys at the the same speed and angle etc..

I've done some work with Oakley before and they have a public display/roadshow doing this stuff, showing impact resistance from a heavy weight, lack of visual distortion, and impact resistance from a small/fast item.
The problem is that they also supply the items being tested against, so obviously the glasses shatter when shot with a BB - it would be pointless if they didn't, but it doesn't really let you draw any conclusions

Surely applies equally to any non premium pair of sunglasses. Not even sure it applies to premium sunglasses if i'm honest. The example above is not exactly a rigorous scientific examination of the pros and cons of expensive glasses. He needs to go out again, and smash his face into the floor a second time with his real glasses on to gather further data.
