• Surely applies equally to any non premium pair of sunglasses. Not even sure it applies to premium sunglasses if i'm honest. The example above is not exactly a rigorous scientific examination of the pros and cons of expensive glasses. He needs to go out again, and smash his face into the floor a second time with his real glasses on to gather further data.

  • In order to achieve scientifically accurate studies I assume he would have to crash at least 20x with alternately the original or fake oakleys at the the same speed and angle etc..

  • I've done some work with Oakley before and they have a public display/roadshow doing this stuff, showing impact resistance from a heavy weight, lack of visual distortion, and impact resistance from a small/fast item.

    The problem is that they also supply the items being tested against, so obviously the glasses shatter when shot with a BB - it would be pointless if they didn't, but it doesn't really let you draw any conclusions
