Apparently nothing has been mentioned about these banned roads on the FB group?
-
• #503
Is that the rail trail?
Yep, it is.

Apparently nothing has been mentioned about these banned roads on the FB group?
Yep, and I think a lot of riders will never see this new banned roads!

Is this page still up to date and accurate? https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1H7sLvCIyLPO492cMk6fVKk3zH4s&ll=45.38337232295467%2C24.61796852954501&z=12

Well, I hope it's mentioned because arguing about placings after the race is finished sucks for everyone.

arguing about placings after the race
Maybe it would be better when there would be a "master" dot-watcher who gives the penalties during the race. So, you would know it already at the finish line.
-
• #508
Given the race doesn't stop, that's a pretty big job. As it stands the many dot watchers can report infractions to the race organisers. Problem is, they are manning CPs so probably don't have a lot of time to notify racers/public of penalties.
-
• #509
Well, I meant it a bit differently. I thought that the dot-watchers report some infractions to a master dot-watcher which has more rights to speak out penalties. So you would have your end time at the finish. In my opinion has the work spread out to more people.

I see what you mean. It might help but I don't know if they have the resources to do that.
-
• #511
No, we don't. Mainly what we do is lurk on forums to see which people are planning on doing what so we can snitch on them later...!
-
• #512
Just like last year I plan on being 100% legal. But that means a shit load of whinging about banned/no-cycling roads and rerouting between now and the start.

• #513
Are you in the TCR team then?
-
• #514
You might want to check hippy's 'current projects' thread, he's talking about bottom bracket motors!
-
• #515
Shit, rumbled!
-
• #516
Are you in the TCR team then?
Just a humble dot-watcher

Yeah, I checked and the link to that thread is already on his file with a big red exclamation mark next to it. They've got a couple of hundred volunteers going through his forum posts and his twitter feed. Tough job!

did you hear back about the e79?
-
• #519
Only to say its being looked into.
I think it will remain banned, as is fair. But might be in banned where its the number 2, and a fine road.I understand why the race cannot allow racers to use a motorywag crossing. It would leave them liable if anything happened as they had authorised it, so its the correct decission banning if. Where the road is the number 1 does not need to be banned. Then you can go west into Macedonia off the 1082 and around djoran eaisly.
Also emailed yesterday as they've 'banned' normal urban roads in Trento now, a small section of while was in my route (avoiding main roads). Annoying.

• #520
Normal urban roads in Trento? Are they adding new bans to the five or so in their Google map?
-
• #521
Just wha'ts in the map. One of the smaller roads I used for 0.5km to get across the city.
This is how I was crossing trento, I've emailed to point out the issue of the banned roads in the city centre.

But I use the via del spirellia for a tiny bit.

• #523
Yeah, just looked, I'm doing the same as you for that bit.

I emailed about it, there is no other way around. I think it must be an oversight.
I'm not changing my route, as there is no alternate.
"Use the Ciclovia Alpe Adria Radweg, or local minor roads instead."
Is that the rail trail? I've manually routed over that for now but will try skinny's method of using OSM Cycle map selection to see if it will autoroute it for me. I have lots of changes to make still, I just need a night not on the piss to concentrate on "fixing" all these banned bits.
