The start is something to behold, a peloton of thousands going at warp speed to the foot of the first climb. All on closed roads. It's fucking ace.

The Etape is a different kettle of fish. Too many people worried about finishing for it to be a massive burn up like an Italian GF. Especially as the latter usually has a shorter route that 60% of the field opt for.
