@chez_jay it's all good! I was being fairly sarcastic but I did still sort of mean it...I think the whole reason we're chatting about it is that GF or sportive people who ride them like they're on telly, that they'll be a photo finish, rushed by an adoring press and get a kiss on the cheek by a bored and incredibly overqualified woman are insufferable and self-absorbed. This dude is on the sociopathic end of this spectrum. But overspending hugely to go put on some tights and do some cosplay on the Continent for a holiday instead and calling it a 'race' is stupid, stupid, stupid.
