Exactly what I'm looking for, unless hamrack has beat me to it,will PM.

Thought they would be avid/sram so didn't ask, ideally after shimano just because they are so damn good and easy to look after.

I see you all the time in Herne/Tulse Hill - do I?

& @Jaap
thanks for the suggestions but both options are a bit pricy considering that the bike is a budget build. I'm sure the fibre lyte would look ace, what bike are you planning to put it on? The rych?
What about this stronglight ring? Probably made for 9/10 or 11 speed so it might be a bit narrow and the pins for shifting may not be ideal either...

Personal opinion but not a fan of the graphics on these. Don't think it'll go with the mavic starfish / rest of the build. Suppose you could try and remove them if you're of the same mind..
I've never heard of a chainring being too narrow for a 3/32 or 1 1/8 chain?

I'd probably sharpie the logos, did the same on the brake tracks so it would be coherent if you will. I thought there was a higher risk of a chain dropping when there's some slack and not a snug fit between chain and chainring. Never experienced it myself with a 1 1/8 chain on a 3/32 chainring but I thought there may be a risk?

?
Definitely won't fit starfish

I like the look of that one but it won't work. Afaik It's designed to give a track chainline with a road crankset but I already have a spindle that gives me a 42mm chainline with a normal ring. Also, 48t is a bit sketchy in terms of spider-arm/chain clearance. Thanks tho!
@mdcc_tester does the oracle have any suggestions?

the bike is a budget build
Stronglight Dural can be had from various sources for under £20, 3/32" and no ramps/pins

You mean these:
Main main problem with that one is that the spider arms end over the cutouts, as in the set-up below

The silver Stronglight ones have white text on them. I'll have a look at mine and see it's likely to come off.
Only issue with all of these, of course, is they're anodised. The one you pictured looks like bare aluminium so they'll never quite look the same.
Edit: actually, I'll take that back. It probably is anodised but it does have that nice oldy uncoated look about it.

I'm sure it's nothing a quick spray of Mr muscle oven cleaner can't remedy

If you have one for sale, please let me know :) wouldn't mind the logos, I'm sure there's a way to get them off, I polished quite a few things so it shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

The one I've got is a 44, so not much use.
Some more aluminium has arrived at Swuzont Nerf Towers.
Well, I say arrived, it's actually still in the car because SWMBO was home and I couldn't sneak it in unseen last night.

problem with that one is that the spider arms end over the cutouts
File them off; if you don't use a front derailleur, then the spider extensions aren't doing anything useful.
-
• #115472
I'll probably have to use the gebhardt
Make sure you see a picture of the actual chain ring you're buying if you go for Gebhardt, they seem to change their pattern on a whim.
-
• #115473
Thanks for the heads-up! I won't file the ends of the spider arms off though, that would qualify as puppy killing imo. And I don't see what they have to do with the front derailleur. Or am I missing something?

• #115474
Interested to see how it turns out too. I have a starfish crank that I might use.. got a Spesh TA chainring that's nice but the cutouts getting cut in half by the crank spider are a little annoying

I wouldn't hold my breath since it might take a while :) Found this chainring on aliexpress which seems to tick all the boxes. I never ordered from there, is it worth the hassle?

Ooooh, I'd definitely take the deore (M615?). I think I've bust the piston seal on my current caliper.
