I get the idea behind the pacer but I don't buy the argument there is no point putting light parts on a heavy frame.
If a steel frame works for you putting lighter parts on could make it feel more sprightly and handle better. Why wouldn't you want that?
Absolutely no reason whatsoever. Do it, and ride the shit out of it, it'll last forever and put a smile on yer face, surely that's what it's all about?
