Just watched sundays stage. Porte's crash took away all the enjoyment, what a horrible crash, really happy to see him alive after that.

and seeing the state of his helmet, it's a surprise he recalls anything at all.

Has Aru been asked if he saw Froome's hand up?
Was he definitely knowingly attacking on a mechanical?
-
• #1856
Aru ducked under Froome's raised arm as he attacked.
-
• #1857
He's not going to say I saw his hand and attacked is he, even if he did...

Cavendish had his collarbone broken after the crash in the hospital to gain sympathy after causing the crash
Wow. Makes the motor-bike-swap theory look positively sane.

I actually need this rest day.
Same here, need to do some work ;)

I've read a few comments various places, saying froomes mechanical was self inflicted choosing to run oval rings. What's up with that? What issues do oval rings cause? Or is it just froome bashing for the sake of it?

Aren't they meant to put slightly more chain tension on when they're at the 'high' point. I'd have thought it was negligable / manageable though.

Theres trolls and bullies on every forum.
Personally I don't think there should be moderation at all, except for obvious stuff, CP, Gore, Extremism et al.
I haven't looked on that forum tho -
• #1863
Forum moderation is probably a topic for discussion elsewhere
However, if your website is running 'The Clinic' don't be surprised if teams stop wanting to talk to you. I'm surprised more teams haven't called them out on it

Arus move was intentional but deemed inappropriate by the group.
Aru could have done what he wanted IMO. Im not even sure id judge it as bad form on Arus part.
Froome loves changing his bike. Maybe it was tactical?

I understand there's beef, after insinuations and badly twisted headlines from the press and lots of smoke and mirrors on Sky's part in return, and there always will be, probably.
But the question Sky should ask themselves is how does this help cycling to become more transparent and credible. I don't think blacklisting journalists is the way to go, no matter how much you hate them. And now not giving the traditional presser is practically blacklisting all journo's.

Seen this, by the way? Also traditional, on a rest day. (I'm going to watch after work, not seen it yet) edit: oh it's just 6 minutes, and a recap of what we already know. But with ominous music.

Tin foil hat brigade out in force on Twitter - the real reason Froome swapped bikes was because he was on a bad day and needed his one with the motor in it.
I find it amazing that nobody's mentioned yet how Froome was swapped for his twin brother as he was too knackered to continue the stage.

Chris Froome died in 2010 and was replaced by a double. You can tell by the earlobes.

I saw a comment aimed at Peta that said 'I hope your children get cancer and die in pain'. Just beggar's belief

This forum is largely self-moderated, that one regularly treats riders as sub-human, despite their attempts to moderate it.
-
• #1872
You're right, moderation and le tour do not go together.
Ye, just been around that clinic forum.
In all fairness. Doping exists, the conversation is there. Would cyclingnews fair better censoring its readers on a public forum discussing a known and prevalent topic?
Tough to call. For me, though I am not a pro rider/team member in any sense and haven't been in their situations, surely I would make sure I spoke to 'the haters' first, kind of like a 'fuck you, keep trying' beat them at their own game kinda thing? And Jimmy,
But no, seriously, I hear what you're saying and its a shame but this is the danger with the public. Conflicting morals.

I'd like to hear his answer and also his response to being held back by the others in the breakaway.
Edit: just googling it, he seems to be sticking with the fact that he was unaware. It seems pretty untenable to stick with this if others have seen it/talked to him about the attack, so maybe he really didn't. It would be a really stupid way of getting a bad reputation amongst other riders.

It's not having the conversation, we have a doping thread here that has an informed and lively discussion, it's the manner of the conversation; sneering, smearing, myopic, mocking, bullying. These are people that desperately want riders to be doping so they can sit on high and judge and laugh at them. The clinic isn't interested in a clean sport, they like it just the way it is.

So all of this is true?
(Can't be bothered to check for myself).
