  • My drunk thinking was this:
I'm getting older with increasing family commitments,
    I love my steamroller,
I have a light nice bike,
I've been toying with the idea of an over specced steel frame for a while. A bit like putting a mad engine in a standard car or a Leica lens on a lesser camera body.

I'm also considering Ritchey logic but I liked the idea of a surly stable.

  • It means if you have a midlife crisis, you can chuck all the dura-ace on something expensive and carbon, too.

  • I think I'm doing this at the moment.

Only just realised that it's a midlife crisis though.

  • I like the dichotomy of a weight weenie build with a solid steel frame, or another way of looking at it, the benefits of a nice steel frame with modern bits.
