The advantage is Sky holding the yellow without putting too much unneeded work on Froome. It's always better to have it within your team. However they'll never blow off duties of Froome, he's the GC contender and they're going to give it all for him, no metter who gets yellow after today's stage. My opinion.

Is there an advantage to Froome losing the yellow jersey to another Sky rider? Can they blow off defense/attack duties if its not on Froome?
