First time this year. Potentially riding solo & also looking for a return coach ticket if there's one going spare.
Can't wait.

Although I do remember the chat getting less and less the further we rolled out from Dunwich. Could have been tiredness, could have been because we were just taking in the scenery. Was lovely weather-wise :0)

added one of those capacious carriages you get on the trains from Ipswich
The Class 90 loco hauled trains still have the bike/luggage/parcel compartment, they were built in the early 90's when the trains were still considered a service. There are about 2 or 3 an hour on a normal timetable and make up a fixed carriage stock. To rearrange them requires yards and shunters and workers that barely exist anymore in the rarified modern railway.
However on Sunday they up the max per train from 4 bikes to 50, on selected hourly services, the problem being Ipswich is only a midway stop from Norwich to Liverpool Street, stopping to allow 50 cycles to be loaded takes time that doesnt exist in the standard timetable. Therefore the specials on Sunday have a modified timetable.

Thinking about doing the Dun-run but can't organise bike transport back?
Around midday at Darsham station we will have a trailer with approx 15 bike spots left @£20 return to London.
If we do not have the van in place one of my guys will be there to collect/guard bikes in preparation.
I will also check train timetables and will have someone at Darsham at a useful(ish) time.
But after 11 def.
I will create a mini FB group with finer details when I have a confirmed list.
You could catch the train like a normal human being while we return your bike to Highbury and Islington (we can also store it free for a few days).
Pm me for places.

Anyone wanting access to the WhatsApp group... ask on here (post your phone number - you can edit it out afterwards) and someone in the group already should add you.
I am not going to be online much later (a gig) or tomorrow (chores to run) so may not respond to PMs to add you. Ask in this thread instead.

If I'd known that function existed, I could've saved myself so much hassle :)

Find any good alternative routes for return?

Forecast no rain and temp not going below 16 dC at any point. Helps with just having a saddlebag

The last few years have been quite warm and sultry, makes picking a top difficult, as it starts very much short sleeve no Base but dips towards long sleeve or base around 3am...
Decisions decisions

There are loads on ride with GPS, as with most named rides...
But obviously using a garnish is bad form and you'll be visited by the spirit of skully somewhere in the night...

Ok so I've lost my Mojo ! Don't know where it is but I have to bite the bullet and say I'm not doing this tonight. Which means I have a return coach ticket going. Looking to get back £25.99 I paid for it. If interested PM me please.

I got this one off @fussballclub which I've then modified to make it a bit shorter
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/22839241
(mostly I cut out a detour to Frinton on Sea).
As a result I can't guarantee it as being totally reliable as I don't know what the roads I modified it to are like, though they looked small enough to be ok.
Also it's currently going in the reverse direction, which is less of a problem if using a wahoo gps, but will be annoying on garmin.
Going to see how adventurous I'm feeling in the morning - it is possible I'll be lazy and just ride back on the route out. -

Will be riding the semi-stripped (white/raw patches) Dolan Track Champ with front rack and fairy lights!!!!
They did try to increase provision a few years ago and IIRC added one of those capacious carriages you get on the trains from Ipswich. It was apparently quite difficult to do logistically (something about the fragmentation of the rolling stock and operational sides of railways) and wasn't very successful or appreciated, I think--can't remember details, though.
