  • Is it flat again tomorrow? The Vuelta and Giro parcours have been shitting on the Tour in recent years. No cobbles this year, why not a few hilly stages for the puncheurs at least?

Also is there a reason the TTT seems to have gone out of fashion? I'm trying to remember the last one in the Tour.

  • It's not flat tomorrow. Finishes on a plateau with a climb up to it, 2nd category I think, which would make it suitable for a break. Given Sunday's stage I'd expect GC riders to sit tight tomorrow.

They used the same finish in 2010 I think, Sylvain Chavanel won from a break.

  • There's a cat 3, then cat 2, then cat 1. I have a feeling any remaining break away will be caught on the cat 1 if not before.

  • Yeah, realised that eventually, hopefully a good stage.

I wonder if Steve Cummings fancies it? He's done sweet fuck all all race, Renshaw mentioned in an interview he wasn't part of Cav's leadout. He's certainly giving the British champ's hoops plenty of air time by being on camera every time the director goes to the back of the peloton.
