Is the 1z1 the chain that looks almost white?
-
• #179
Yeah, it's kind of strange grey colour. It's meant to be a superb chain but it may not look quite right for the build.

It's great but I wouldn't get it for the looks!
Wippermann do a chain that looks black in the same price range. Maybe good to keep the zincy one for when the seasons change?

Sounds good, I'll take a look.

Daft question - Does it matter whether the BB is pista ?
For example - The Record cranks I have, I also have a Record pista BB
The C Record cranks I have will not work with the Record pista BB as the axle/spindle is the incorrect length for the correct chain line.
Are there going to be any issues if i use a road BB with the C record cranks ?
Thanks -

The C-Record BB was the same length for pista and road, 111mm.

Cool, I've read somewhere that pista parts were manufactured stronger than road parts for the stress and strain of track use but I will only be using this on the road.
So as long as the axle/spindle length is correct, it doesn't really matter ? -

I'm pretty sure there wasn't a difference between the two in this era.

Excellent, thanks buddy.

I live around some reasonable hills and need something to stop me at the bottom.

On purely aesthetic grounds, I went for a silver Acor lever like so. This was for my semi-beater Superia track bike. Metallic light blue, chrome forks etc.
Doesn't look too out of place on a fairly classic build and seems sturdy enough.
