Through axle front and back now, with 43 gravel king sk's. Anyone used sram s700 10 speed shifters / brakes? Going hydraulic is the last thing I want to change, but my hub can't take an xd driver and s700 would mean I could keep everything else the same...

How much did it cost to go through axle & do Soma sell kits of fork and rear drops? I wouldn't mind doing the same at least on the front.

I've got the Apex 1 groupset hydro stuff on mine. I really like the hoods on there, and the hydro brakes have been awesome and reliable so far. One year in and they didn't need any servicing. Just ordered some new pads, that's it.
Shape wise they looks pretty similar to the s700 ones.

How's that unicrown fork changing the handling?
-
• #115
Fork was $200 from soma, the dropouts were direct from $40 from paragon (I'm in the US).
@pascalo the rake and a-c are the same so handling hasn't changed but it is much stiffer under braking. Need to figure out how to fit my surly rack since the mounts have swapped to infront of the dropout and now the caliper is in the way :(

And clearance wise? Looks tighter? I managed 2.1 29ers, but am just piecing together a 27.5 wheelset for that sorta stuff.

cool thanks for the infos. looks like a sweet ride :)

That's why I went through axle, so I could swap in the wheelset from my 27.5 mtb (also explains the 180mm rotor on the front). Pics are with 27.5 x 2.35 hans dampfs - front is tight and rear won't work. I think you'd be set with 27.5 x 2.2ish though!

Cool. My solution was to order QR end caps from DT swiss for the 27.5 wheel set. Still waiting for the rear one. Never occurred to me that I could do thru axle in the rear, but of course the dropouts are made for swapping ... Although in the front it matters more I guess.

MTB stuff confused me, there's so many variations. Had a look at the sliders. What's your rear measurements? 135x10 thru axle? What are the sliders you picked?

Some updates made to the bike found on the first page..

I'm now on 142x12 through axle. These should work for most MTB hubs:
Non-drive (for 160mm rotor, there's a 140mm version too):

I'm seriously considering joining the Wolverine Owners Club. Would be good to get your view on sizing. I'm 6ft and usually fit a 58cm frame for Cannondale, Specialized etc. There doesn't appear to be a size guide on Soma's website.
And I was worried about the clearance on my Equilibrium with 32c gravel king sk tyres. That is just ridiculous, nice fork though.
