    I'm not sure what would happen if they ruled in Sagan's favour. But presumably the UCI's rules are robust enough to prevent CAS over-ruling them.

    The UCI were at pains to state that the disqualification was pursuant to a rule that gave them discretion. Unless Sagan can show that that discretion was exercised in an unlawful manner, it is impossible successfully to appeal a decision made through discretion. He would have to show bias or prejudice or some procedural irregularity. I suppose his best bet might be 'want of natural justice" insofar as they did not hear his take.
