I think you have to be a real fan to dream of Contador doing much, he looks in decline and has done for a while. Quintana should certainly threaten, I think maybe longer climbs and more mountainous stages will suit him better, but he does have the Giro in his legs. Still there's a lot that can happen between now and Paris, as me old ma used to say.

He looked good
He's pro-cycling's Ed Miliband

I'm getting a bit bored of Quintana not climbing hills that well, given that he is supposed to be made of helium. His 2015 (14?) Tour performance is starting to look like an anomaly, to this Grand Tour watcher.

I felt the same about Aru till he finally lay a golden egg today.

Trudat

I think the loveable bit is due to the fact the shots of him on a bike, face going 'full Aru', aren't some un/lucky papped 'caught me at a bad moment' image. He genuinely looks like that. All the time (on a climb). He must do it for the crowds.
Can't wait for the inevitable day (as mentioned in GT threads passim) someone runs up beside him in a full Partridge mask shouting SMELL MY CHEESE...

Was it not aru who blew up and lost seven minutes on one stage . The team didnt even wait for him on one climb i recall .

Damn shame that Mark Cavendish has to go on Twitter and ask people to stop abusing and threatening him and his family on social media.

Does anyone remember that time when Sagan merked Cav in the sprint finish on the Tour de France? I guess y'all want to hear what Lance has to say... https://youtu.be/yyQHyGbS8aQ

Quintana is a turbo diesel, today's climb was never going to be one he prospered on, it's too short.

double post was on a train
-
• #888
This may or may not be true. It just seems that I haven't seen him prosper on any climb since that tour.

• #889
Fucking hell Lance looks like he's already sleeping under a bridge, wanking into a third hand sleeping bag.
-
• #890
Is Lance making a grab for mainstream acceptability this Tour? I do wish the various cycling news outlets would stop giving him a platform and taking notice of him.

That one is more Theresa May. I'm sure she pulled that face eating some chips

You can't really tell other people to ignore something after you've just mentioned it, can you?
I wish people would stop punching other people in the face. Take that, you bastard! -

In all seriousness has anyone managed to decode BMC's 'strategy' yet?
Gary Kasparov has been approached for comment and he just referred me to Deep Blue as it's that impenetrable. Considering Porte was left hanging like a pair of skidmarked pants on a communal washing line at the Dauphine by team mates that wilted before the climbs got fruity, we already know BMC is nowhere near as strong as Sky, and today it seems they just managed to accomplish the confirming that their DS is not particularly shrewd either.

Le Rep
This is my new favourite cycling metaphor and I wish to use it in casual conversation one day.

Can somebody explain to me how Cavendish can't bring himself to admit that he lacked judgement and brought the crash on to himself. The turbo interview from this morning still put blame on others.

Having said that sprinters all the same idiots and Greipel the only one worth buying a drink.

Coming from someone who has never suddenly, without warning, sprinted out of a bunch of people on a social ride to try and win a strava segment.

That sounds like some of his more predictable behavior ;)
Great win for Aru.
He looked good and he worked hard. What more does a rider want.
