  • Any day now, I hear.

  • The latest I heard is there's going to be a book about the making of the book, although not sure where we are with that one.

  • Taking pre-orders yet?

  • There should be a film about the making of the book. Or maybe a trailer for a film, okay a storyboard for a trailer.

  • LFGSS trailer thread >>>>>>>>>>>

  • The last time I checked, the problem with the book was still a lack of good material for it, so perhaps producing some (calling myself out here, too), sending it to the editors, and not reposting the same lame old jokes might be a better idea?

    #highhorse :)

  • Is it not just going to be effectively a print out of all the threads on the forum? If not then I'm out.

  • I provided a most articulate piece; an edited version of a thread.

Corney said that no one wanted to read about my arse.

  • not reposting the same lame old jokes might be a better idea?

  • A suggestion for a title:

    #MargaretThatchersPenis

  • The 300,000 Mile Commute

I wrote an article with this title for a proposed lfgss book some years ago. I have not published it elsewhere, and if anyone is interested I will dig it out and submit it.

Incidentally, its original title was 'The 250,000 etc.' but when the rider (not me) totted up his diaries we had to amend the figure.

  • Hey. I'm back after 4+ years. Is the book ready yet?

  • Hard back or paper back, what are you after?

  • Sorry all the copies were distributed at the forum 10th birthday party.

You'll have to wait another 8 years for the reprint.

  • actually, on second thoughts are you serious there is a book? softback then, im a cheapskate.

  • are any of my photos I did not send to andrew (Cornelius Blackfoot on 16/08/2012 when he asked me last) actually in the book? I snooze and all sorts of things happen...

  • My seatpost is stuck on my 2006 Kona Paddy Waggon. Anybody has an idea how to make it unstuck? I have tried literally everything.

  • Like hey here good times: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjnBcGRk

  • I'm on holiday for two weeks, back beginning of May.
I need content for the first chapter of the book to see if we can get publishers interested or go the self publishing route.
I will post up what the content will be, and those of you who wish to provide content, can get going on it, written, photographic, illustration or design..
    Many thanks

  • Aaaaaaarrrrggggh! Just wrote out a long comment with suggested content before losing signal and the whole lot.

    Gist was:

    1. Tribute pieces to mike hall/BDW/ 50/14 / anyone else appropriate.
    2. A piece on the evolving demographic of the community from inception till now. Including the bikes they ride.
    3. Piece focusing on good community traders producing good products.

It was much more fleshed out and these are probably all in the plan but you never know

  • Publishing and photo books – From editing and design to marketing and distribution

Magnum are offering courses on how to produce a photo book

  • If we're going the self publishing route, maybe it will be faster if we just do an ebook? Of course, first somebody needs to come up with a better ebook format than the current ones and new ebook software to display it. Something which gives the reader a choice about whether there are footnotes, about how pages/chapters are ordered and so on. With a cracking search function that works much better than a boring old index.

  • An ebook doesn't look as good on my coffee table...
