  • Bring on the hills!

  • He's done his packing. As further punishment they also took away one of his suitcases (but left him a few plastic bags).

  • Its a damn shame to loose Cav and Sag but it certainly aint gonna ruin todays stage for me game on. Its GC time!

  • Headbutts aren't worse.

Elbow didn't cause crash neither did headbutts.

  • There's just no rider solidarity these days

'Rider solidarity' in the olden days was based on a much more hierarchical peleton, often with bullies like Merckx, Hinault and Armstrong calling the shots (there may be many positive things about Hinault and Merckx especially, but they were bullies).

The modern peleton may not have the same 'solidarity' but it is also far less dominated by authoritarian bullies. I know what I'd prefer on balance.

  • Appeal rejected. Lets move on.

  • When I heard he'd just been docked and relegated I mentioned Renshaw. 2mins later he'd been DQ'd. At least they're consistent(ly wrong) for once.

  • from Jens:

“Take your time and watch the replay in slow-motion. Then forget about Peter and Cav. Focus on Demarre. He is the first to change trajectory. So when we start punish people- maybe consider him first. His move almost crashed Bouhanni, he is trying to save himself and moves Sagan.

“Then Sagan moves over to the right and there is no space for nobody left. Its either be safe and break and lose, or maybe win or crash."

  • I've seen a few screenshots like this going around, they're pretty disingenuous because at this point Sagan is already pushing Cav sideways into the barrier.

  • Yeah, that's a good point.

  • First sensible post about the crash. :)

  • Agree but it explains the elbow being stick out in reaction

  • Anyway-go Betancur!

  • Look, here's the sequence.
Cav is behind Demare, Sagan tries to force a gap between them and in the process pushes Cav into the barriers. It's 100% Sagan's fault.

  • In 2014, he pretended to talk to someone he knew so he could jump the queue for the patisserie stand in Limoges.

2016, he swapped Renshaw's toothpaste from his favourite spearmint to peppermint. The duo have never been the same since.

  • Unfuckingforgivable. Unfriend. Not friends.

  • Glows in the dark? Fuck me, he really wants to be green...

  • I dont care about how quick he can eat a banana. Im done. Out.

    Bin ... Xmas card.

  • Sagan finished...

  • Basically this, but the arm was out after the fact so is essentially irrelevant, but the commis are basing decision on the what looks like intent resulting in crash, which is horseshit, since it wasn't.

  • Just watched the end of the stage, I dunno, it's just a shame they're both out, I think we've seen worse... Sagan and Cav are great, I'll miss them...

    Onwards!

  • dick move

Racing for a win? He launched for a wheel, Cav was behind and coming up quickly, he didn't know. Looks totally legit accident to me. The 'afterwards elbow' is what you lot are all crying about and it's irrelevant.

  • Well I've canceled my expensive Bora kitchen in outrage at the elbow

  • Toothy Grin ftw!

  • As a former (shithouse) sprinter, it does me head in.

Piss off and watch the tennis if you find flat stages boring...
