When he was demonstrating his ability to unclip then clip and win, he was also demonstrating his inability to hold his line.
Or am I misremembering this?

They've made their decision, they won't change it, let's move on.
They made a decision that minus 80 points and a 30 second penalty was a valid punishment. Then Dimension Data appealed and Sagan was DQ'd.
I agree with you though, unlikely to reinstate.

Will we start to see the end of Contador as a bona fide Tour GC contender today?
He looked off the pace on Stage 3 and any lack of form will be brought into sharp relief today.

is there a race still going on?

if you look at the close of mondays stage sagan goes a bit veer-y in the last 20m as he cuts the nose off the bloke behind him, probably already won but still
it's obviously a tactic designed to cause a slight let up in the rival sprinters effortcan't they just lay out some red and blue sprinters lines in the last 50m to ensure people don't veer like the home straight on the track

The team put his bike on the car, are they hoping...?
Anyway Sagan has been elbowing around a bit too much earlier on in the tour as well according to other riders. Jury warned the riders before yesterday.

Was sublime. Would rep etc.

Cervelo must have spent literally minutes thinking up that colour scheme

Today will be epic. Hoping Rolland or Chavez have a crack...

This Tour really is shaping up to be the dullest ever. Boring route. Sky holding yellow throughout. Sagan dq-ed. Yawn festival.

We're on Stage 5.
I'm a card carrying misanthrope but even I'd say that's a very premature ejaculation of pessimism.

He was treated by medics on the finishing straight before riding over the line with a bandaged hand. Then he went to hospital.
He was asked in an interview of the steps of the medical bus what he thought of the DQ - said it was the first he had heard of it and it was really up to the race jury. Pretty tactful and un Cav like, especially having just found out you have a broken shoulder and are out the tour.

Sagan set to make a public statement at the team hotel in the next 15 minutes.

There's just no rider solidarity these days... I blame neoliberalism.

Every Tour is the worst one ever during the first week.

People were moaning about the Giro in the first week too, hopefully this is a good omen...

Ah yes that's what I saw the picture of, didn't think I'd dreamt it.
He's got a lot better at not shooting his mouth off to be fair. Same with his comments on it being a racing incident but he didn't appreciate the elbow. I feel like old Cav would have been angry and given him a savaging, I think it's something he's been consciously working on.

I missed out yesterday so hiding at work to chatteth shite

I don't think its too tactful. He says he's good friends with Sagan and its just what happens in racing. Its everyone else who's losing their shit over it.

Shouldn't HAVE! Pfft - kids edjcayshun today.
Even without the elbow his dick move sent Cav down. Could have been karma realigning itself, but pretty brutal.
