Good news. Assume he didn't finish today though so is out of the race?
-
• #453
Yes I noticed there were several movements to the arm. Most probably instinctual rather than intentional, to balk the rider rather than put them into the tarmac. Ugly nonetheless.

He was down for a while but did finish the stage.

Yea I can see how the first two seem more twitches than anything, but it's not moving around in the peloton at 40kph. Thingy on Eurosport was well angry. I guess Greipel was biting his tongue if the elbowing was a character trait, as in until something bad happens don't be the bitchy one that complains.

Someone slowed it down, looks even worse. Ah well, at least nothing is broken.

Don't do it Anikin [sic] I have the high ground

Just had a thought, was it last year or the year before that people were bitching about Cav's
aggressiveassertive sprinting style? -
• #460
Errr, that would every year

80 points deducted, Frenchman in green. If it was a racing accident the penalty is a bit harsh but hey.
I think the elbow came after Cav was already falling down, as a reaction to Sagan leaning against him (after this where Cav tried to make room for himself)

WTF Sagan out
-
• #463
Just saw that. Seems very harsh.

Where's this?
-
• #466
That's one way to liven up the green jersey competition.

Have to agree with @CaleyFretz - because fault isn't obvious, disqualification seems very, very harsh.

Shit people might actually compete for it now. I suppose if Froome comes down with a mystery ailment (sprained PR muscle or something) it could be a wide open tour.
-
• #469
Well colour me suprised.

Serious? For fuck's sake that's an appalling decision, there has to be an appeal. He animates the entire race, and while it was sketchy I don't think he intended to put Cav into the barrier, it was instinctual as he felt cav bump him from behind.
I think there will be a huge outcry over this.

Yeah, in the slow motion vid, if you watch it frame by frame basically you see Cavendish actually made it past Sagan and then got rammed by him. However the final elbow does look a bit like Sagans trying to hold his balance
-
• #472
Harsh. Elbow came out after contact.
-
• #473
What about Demare cutting sharply across Kristoff? Supposed to keep to their line, no?

That's ok, he's French
Greipel saying 'he's not my friend anymore' regarding Sagan: apparently there was an elbow in the intermediate sprint on Monday.
Sprinters generally don't get on with each other but at the moment there is some serious needle. The sprints may turn into the cycling equivalent of the Whacky races.
