Your Moby Dick image is pretty amazing.
In fact, that and the image of the valley are both so atmospheric. I like them a lot.

Got some medium format scans back from filmdev.co.uk. Anyone had an issue like this before? Large scan option. It almost looks like a halftone print. Might send them a message.

I've had some weird 120 scans from them recently as well.

Did you talk to them about it? Just sent them an email now

No, not yet. I had it with two sets they did for me. I got some back last week that where fine. If it happens again I'll mention it, but I mainly use the them as a quick reference and scan the ones I want in higher resolution anyway.

Yeah I'm not totally fussed, only 1 or 2 images are really effected. I'll see what they say though as I'm interested to know why they've ended up like that.

How are you getting on with the Mamiya?

Was a real pleasure to shoot with. AE finder made exposing correctly really easy. All shots came out as hoped, most likely thanks to the electronics not letting you fire unless everything was setup properly (dark slide thing out etc.). Scans look really good, much more detail compared to what I was getting on 35mm.

Follow up to the filmdev situation. They said that there seems to have been some slight vibrations on the scans causing the distortion. Negs had already been posted back so couldn't rescan. He offered to refund the 2 medium format rolls, good chap. Would still use again.

I was a touch pissed by this stage, no idea who these girls are, but they wanted a photo, even after I explained they would never see it...

These are mint... I wish my stuff wasn't so contrasty... how'd you make it less so? Longer exposure? I know nothing.

these are beautiful! particularly the last shot! what film is it? the (longish?) shutter speed seems like it really gets across the feeling of a cool summer evening breeze! what film stock is it?

Second time I've used film dev now and its the best service i've used in terms of colour and also the cheapest I've ever used.

Yeah, I'm happy with the way these turned out, very well matched the scene as I saw it. The film is Fuji Superia 400, I always have good results with Fuji but for some reason don't often buy it! Shutter speeds around 1/30th.
