I've actually found the same thing with my cheaper cannondale carbon post. have to tighten it way over recommended to get it to stay put.
Having ridden both a fair bit now I'm not convinced the 12 is much of an improvement over the 10. the fork flexes a lot in comparison, both under braking and heavy cornering.

Someone on here was contemplating a Slate, the Ultegra can be had for a few quid under £1800 now using code Tour10, the Slate Apex 1 is also £1170..

Agree with you there, I think I possibly preferred my CAAD10, certainly not a lot in it IMO.

yeah, it's a close one. I think if they had stuck with a 27.2 seat post and beefed the fork up a little it would be a winner, it's definitely better looking!

What size is it?

not cheap mind

Is your frame big or do you have a lot of spacers? Surely it's more likely that your wheels are flexing? I race my 54cm CAAD 12 and would probably stop doing so if I could detect the front fork flexing!

58, they come up a bit big though, I'm 6'4"

54cm with about 10-15mm of spacers. It's not the wheels. I'm not saying its horrendously flexy, just that the 10 has a stiffer fork.
I doubt i'd notice the difference road racing, but then I'm usually clinging on at the back anyway!

About the same as me then. I had a Supersix HM before and while I can notice some differences (acceleration, climbing, road buzz) I haven't noticed this. Only reason I mentioned racing is that I probably put it through harder breaking and cornering, certainly in crits at least.
That said, what does front fork flex feel like?!

What's the best full length mudguards for a CAAD9? Recently built one up as my summer best bike but enjoying it so much I want to ride it through the muck of winter.

Used them plastic crud ones on mine - not sure something more robust like PDW will fit.

It's an updated version of the Synapse. It looks better than the previous version - the seatstay junction looks much better. Integrated kinda handle bar thing is interesting.
Want it with rim brakes? You might be disappointed.
If it went down, warrant it.
