I honestly don't know - I'd have been happy with the Carbon ones I'd bought had the routing actually gone into the main body of the bars but it's all external

Shimano delivered the "final" prototype 9100-P cranks to FDJ at the Tour and there were news articles saying it will be 6-8 weeks before production units get to stores. The German shops have Sep 16th as a date

Maybe I should borrow one for the Dunwich Dynamo and see how I get along with it.
Random cheap-seat opinion but if you've got the chance try eTap, and you're not committed one way or the other yet.. why not. Even the bottom end SRAM hydro is lovely, and you'd get to skip all this cable routing faff forever.

In my miserable experience they just lie. Probably for fun. They're probably laughing at this thread at Madison towers as we speak.

This is why I just thought "fuck that" and went and sent a message to Gary Lee at Shimano directly. Basically saying, "quit screwing around your customers and their customers, and do you have real dates and availability on these parts"... ultimately Madison are at the behest of Shimano, and Shimano are playing a crappy game of announcing things that are just not available far too far in advance such that it kills the old lines whilst the new isn't available.

Best idea yet.
I've asked for the lead time on the FC-9100 cranks... will review PM needs later.
I can bring a pair back from Trumpistan if they're available for sale there, I'm there from this Friday.

$1,499, includes free head-unit, you can even get the (currently red) cover painted pink to match the bike.

Or a pink that's ever so slightly different....

Pretty sure Gary Lee is the (Shimano) fishing guy

Another reason to buy eTap...

Yeah, but Sram haven't quite nailed hydraulic braking yet. There's currently a fair few Guide mtb brakes currently shitting themselves in hot weather due to piston intolerance. Shifting's one thing to compromise on, but braking?...

Did Gary answer you?

Suddenly relived that I chose cable rim brakes.

Never had a problem with SRAM hrd. Consistently awesome. Can't comment on etap from personal experience but those I know who have it seem to like it.

Sram hydraulic seemed pretty good to me. A lot better than 1st gen Shimano.
