Little cunt will probably try cutting it down now to match, thankfully you can count the number of threads visible in his own pics so if he does maybe that will work as visual proof he's cut it.

What happens when you get it back and can demonstrate he's wrong?
Does the case stay open, allowing you to counter-claim?
-
• #954
Fuck knows. Ebay always side with the buyer unless you phone them and can convince someone with absolutely no knowledge of what you're talking about that it's been altered.
I mean, this is pretty blatant, no?

Hilariously poor.
Even so you can see the threaded section is a good 4.5cm, which makes the steerer 20.5cm.
If you point this out to him, he might fuck off.

Glad to hear it I thought i was fucking hallucinating.
Some people are just arseholes eh?

Ha! That's brilliant. 160mm unthreaded plus 45mm threaded = 185mm obvs.
It's sad that people are so dishonest when they make a mistake.

The guy actually submitted more pics today that are photoshopped to look shorter. I phoned customer services to point out the inconsistency but they can't do anything until the 25th for some obscure reason, in the meantime dickhead here has to pay the return.
What can you fucking do.

Unbelievable.
I would say that at least you can look forward to when he gets screwed for postage two ways, but...

photoshopped to look shorter.
I think we need to see these.

All the feedback in his listings is for digital camera gear, so you'd be disappointed as there's not much to see-it's been well done compared to the first ones he put up above.

not bike part related, but an ebay issue
bought an item, realised it was too large really quickly, requested a refund
seller accepted, required me to send it back by given date
sent it back, provided the royal mail tracking number to ebay
on royal mail tracking, the item was delivered the following day, with a valid signature
on ebay, it is still marked as "item dispatched - in transit"
It's been more than 2 weeks since it was delivered, ebay still did not update, sent several messages to seller, still no reply
any way I can ask ebay to jump in? -

Best to open a case. Go to the Resolution Centre - very bottom of the screen or http://resolutioncentre.ebay.co.uk/

bought a brand new 3ttt status quill stem of ebay for 27 quid including postage. just installing now (it's been a total ball ache to remove the old one). Googled 3ttt status, and realised planet x sell them for a tenner...

buyer didn't return my fork despite opening return and my money being held for over 3 weeks, despite me providing return label.
Called ebay today to tell them item not returned and they closed in my favour, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if the buyer appeals it will be reversed as, well, it always is isn't it? Giving serious thought to just closing my account and selling locally. Total sham protection for sellers and just had another buyer who bought my CAAD moaning about the marks in the carbon lay up on the fork which are just part of the manufacturing process. Looking at eating another 30 quid to get that back if he decides he doesn't want it. Superb.

Has anyone had experience providing a postage label for delivery back from outside the UK?
I need to get a C-record pista crankset and BB back from a buyer in Italy. I have accepted the return willingly but eBay is now trying to get me to provide a return label. It's trying to get me to buy a Royal Mail return label to get it back from Bologna?!
I have read a few things online about problems with this sort of return through eBay, and i'm beginning to think just paying him the postage separately will be the best solution.
Any ideas?

I don't think appeals once closed are ever successful.
Thats what eBay told me, and said Paypal wouldn't either.
In my case the seller was refunded as the delivery was held up at customs. The item arrived the day after the case closed. The buyer actually then paid me after I sent a snotogram email but they didn't have too. -

Giving him more money outside of ebay seems like recipe to, well, lose more money as you need to rely on him actually sending it back, and if he doesn't you need to prove he was given money for the postage etc.
If it were me I'd go onto Interparcel and arrange and pay for a drop-off service for UPS or similar, then upload the label they give you into the Ebay resolution center. It is fully trackable and will be equally convenient if not more so compared to going to a post office, and hopefully cheaper for you too.

I've not heard a sniff from buyer or ebay yet... I think I may have gotten in there first so it's gone my way and hopefully, as you say, it can't be reversed. Would be nice if I didn't have to send a prepaid postage label before getting to this point but hey ho... After this my ebay selling days are done and dusted. Lucky your buyer did the right thing anyway!

I've looked into this. My main concern is that i have to elect the time and date for collection. This chap strikes me a a total cockwomble as it is, and i can see him being an arse about it. He is also not answering any on my emails asking for his exact details etc, and barely speaks english.
Interparcel require a mobile number for the collection and i'm get to get his. -
• #972
Phone customer services then and say he's not co-operating or providing you with the information you need to complete the return?
I normally enter my own number for Interparcel-couriers never use it anyway.
make sure to repeat the agents name when the call starts so they take accurate notes.
-
• #973
Also, you could search for a UPS access point near his address, enter this as a collection addess and tell him to drop it off there by X date according to when you booked it for.
-
• #974
Yeah, thats the next port of call.
Worryingly i read something yesterday about how much of a minefield returns can be for stuff sent through the GSP. EBay don't take any responsibility and offer no protection to the seller trying to retrieve their items. If it goes to a dispute most if the time the seller loses out and the buyer will keep the item. Ebay have already suspended the funds out of my Paypal account. My cynical side thinks that is exactly what this person is doing.
He has filed for a return because the ballbearings cages on the BB are not original Campag apparently..... -

I have booked an Interparcel collection for 02/08. The fella wasn't replying to my emails and is now saying he is out of the country for the next few weeks. Not sure how this is going to turn out..
no, I don't but as pictured the threaded section looks the same as sent. I think he's just bought it thinking it would fit and realised that he's still 15mm out as in his email asking to cancel he says
there's no way i'm that far out with the measurement, and if it's not even protruding from his head tube even with an extra 10mm it would be too short for any short stack headset. I think he's just a fucking chancer, but ebay being what it is...
