It was horrible what happened to Soho. Westminster and old bill raided the brothels looking for "drugs and trafficked women" found none of either but the Evening Standard photographers who just happened to be there printed photo of the working girls being led out with their faces unpixellated. Raymond was a shit landlord and the properties were falling apart but we saw the authorities collude to impose a sort of forced eviction of people to make way for money. One of the few places of London with real characters is being wiped clean by developers.
