Not a bike trip, this time.

Why would anyone want to go to Bartoszyce?
Also - Gdynia Redlowo - abandoned hotel and an awesome cliff.
-
• #7
Yep, that's the one. But the SKM station is called Redlowo.
When you're near that hotel, there are 2 girls serving chestnut ice cream out of an old Citroen truck - that's a must have. And Tawerna Orlowska serves the biggest cod I've seen in my life.

Oh crap, sorry. Yeah, Gdynia Orlowo SKM.

Thank you so much! This is perfect info.
We are staying here, Świętego Ducha 25, 80-834 Gdańsk.
Honestly, I have only started looking myself today. I'm going with some Poles who know their way around a little.
History, Yes! Very much into everything historical as well as cultural.

That hotel looks awesome. I think we will be going to Sopot but not sure we'll go as far as Gdynia though but it's going on the list.
Thanks. -

Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot are pretty much one big city, so no worries.
-
• #13
That's some tough history right there. Fascinating none the less. Nice one.

Looks like it's going to rainy this weekend so we'll take an atmospheric stroll down the pier ;)
-

Yeah, think I saw some drunkard pictures on Google images of people outside the food place.
Don't think we'll be leaving at 5am to be honest, but you never know.
That area does look pretty lively. -

The old town looks gorgeous, and we are staying right in the middle.
As soon as we arrive i'll be heading down to this spot for a short walk to the first beer stop :) -
• #17
When in Rome, in that case.

Hahahahaha.
I've already been warned that her family will get me drunk. Apparently I'll be heading to her uncles house where we'll smoke sausage and drink Vodka.

It is the first time meeting her family.
They have tiny or no English and I have virtually no Polish. So it will be interesting and probably rely heavily on the language of alcohol.Actually, I'm a big fan of roll mops which are the same. I could eat them all day long :) Potato salad also. But to be fair, I eat everything and always enjoy it too.
I'll keep an eye out for the mad booze!
A good trick I learned whilst traveling was to just toss every other shot over your shoulder when every one else necks theirs. Barely ever get spotted :)

I'd be OK with that :)
It's going to be in at the deep end for me. It's her nieces birthday whilst we are there, who is three, so her entire family will be round.
I'm off to Poland for a week and will be visiting Gdańsk.
Does anyone have any recommendations for eating, drinking, seeing, LBS etc?
I will also be in Bartoszyce and spending some time in the Wigry National Park.
Please and thank you.
