The Ancient Wyvern in Archdragon Peak? If he's getting you down you're doing it wrong.
-
• #17403
Just wait until you get the Unnamed King...
-
• #17404
It's the fire dragon in smouldering lake. Even with the sunrise covenant summon burns me up each time.
-
• #17405
Ah. Think he's optional, so if he driving you nuts, you could move on elsewhere and come back later - or just skip him all together.
Although saying that, as bosses go, he's a relatively easy one. What lvl are you, things can become easier by leveling a little -

About to start on the Zelda DLC, that's the rest of the day taken care of...

Fire demon?
Where you climb down the bridge you break?
Run round the top, hit the mimic on the opposite side, run away and let them Duke it out. Which ever survives will have depleted health and be mildly easier. -

Fire demon?
think he means old demon king
-
• #17409
Yup. I do. Any tips?
-

Old demon king needs a good smack on the arse!
(Run behind him and hit him, run away, repeat, on the 2nd phase keep away when he does the AOE attacks and keep doing the same, middle pile of corpses acts as a good Benny Hill run around to get behind him again)Only on my 3rd play though did I find my way up to the giant arrow launcher thing there.
Oh, Skydancer, if you can handle it, you can get the Fume Ultra Greatsword from the bowels of the Smouldering Lake from a Black Knight (he is tough but the sword is amazing, I used it exclusively for NG+ / ++) you need 50 str to wield it properly, but worth it (you are a Knight class?)

Use a dark infused weapon / of any black knight weapon if you have one and as DethBeard said jump in, do a couple of hits, and get out again. If you stay close it's easy to get caught by his aoe attacks.
If you're still struggling you can semi-cheese him with either poison/toxic by waiting for him to attack and use toxic/poison mist on him, then run around the arena and watch his health deplete - repeat 3 or 4 times and he's dead. Or he's relatively easy to cheese with a bow or crossbow - just keep distance and chip him down.

Thanks. I will try this. Esp the toxic route. I have many dung pies. I am Knight class L39 atm. And go a strong crossbow. So arsehwacks. poison and arrows...
I got up to the launcher thing and turned it off after killing the giant worm. Can't see how it helps with the Demon King.
-
• #17415
I not sure how effective dung pies are on him (despite him being weak to toxic) you're better of getting toxic mist from the lava pit just past him in the demon ruins
-
• #17416
I was wary about jumping into that lava..
-
• #17417
ha yep. it's pretty much a death run. Just do it when you don't have a load of souls to lose
-
• #17418
I'm proper struggling with a new build on DS3, went for a sorcerer, and they are pony. Stuck on Curse Rotted greatwood, so might swerve it for the time being and hit up Road of Sacrifices, come back when I have spells to brap it with.
-
• #17419
until you get some stat investment sorcerer's are tricky. Can you not just charcoal resin any old weapon and do it the old fashion way
-
• #17420
Got the bastard Demon King. Thanks for advice. Used ranged attack behind the bone mountain. easy in the end.
-
• #17421
Highlight of the steam sale for everyone? I'm allowing myself one title but not yet decided.
-
• #17422
Doom is a tenner at the moment, as is Xcom 2, there's quite a few half decent games down to like £20 but that's not enough to make it worthwhile IMO.
-
• #17423
Ryse: Son of Rome is only £4 too.
-
• #17424
Is Ryse any good? Was a free xbox game recently.

I think it's worth if it you get it cheap/free. The story line is meant to be decent but a bit short. It's got generally good reviews on Steam.
Xcom 2 on order. time for a break from Dark Souls 3. The fire dragon is getting me down...
