Pharrell
The Brooklyn Hustle.Issue 62 March/April 2007
Bit of a tease as having issues getting the text. Will come back to this, may have to break it down into several photos.
Logic is thus. If i keep to forum friendly size photo's this information stays in the forum, part of the forum. I don't host anywhere anyway, and links to host site only last as long as the photos stay in the file or the host site is active, so this lot should be viewable as longs as LFGSS is alive :)

SR6 is so so so cool

Same as he was back then... Running his window cleaning round. And single handedly taking on the bike-thieving scum of Manchester! :)

I always had a soft spot for the Rubber Ducky! :)

Anyone know how many v1 gangsta's where made with an external HS?
-
• #4860
They only did the first small batch with external. Tom's was one of the last of the first batch, as most of them went to Joe's mates, and to Japan. So I would guess 20 ish.
They also changed the dropouts to the cutout version at the same time.

Wish my V1 had an external headset.

Is this correct?
Joe from Brooklyn Machine Works also trained in England, although I can't remember the exact frame builder
Seen in Serotta thread

Yeah it's true. I believe it was yellow jersey in London.
-
• #4864
Doubt they're still around though.
-
• #4865
They're not. I think they had four shops in London at one point, including one at Clapton Pond (which later became Chaingang). I'm pretty sure the last one, which survived for much longer than the others, closed in the early 90s, but I can't even remember where it was, so the approximate date may be well off, too.

I just found this photo of me astride my totally impractical but very fun BMW Race Link with ridiculous Super Monster forks....It was actually Steve Peats wedding day and he was sneaking in a pre church ride. :)
Ain't no school like the old school. :)

Small updates, trimmed cables, cut steerer and found a BMW saddle.
To single speed or not? Gears on the front are worthless (read: never used), gonna be replaced with Profile cranks anyway. I play around with the ones in the rear but think that if I found the right ratio I could live without them (not sure though). Thoughts?

I'd go 1x on that. Let me know if you ever sell it ;)
-
• #4874
Will do. A friend gave me a Zee derailleur and shifter so will half step it down to single speed, using those and the Profile cranks. If it feels nice it'll stay like that for a while. I have absolutely no motivation to fuck around with different set ups at the moment even though I'm curious as to how it would be if I did. It's just been riding and nothing else. I blame the weather.

Disc Woundups on a V2: Good or Bad?
Also, would it be sacrilege to put full guards on a V2?
You actually have a proper version ONE v1 too... Unlike almost everyone else. :)
