Does anyone stock Compass tyres in the UK?
Velo vitality doesn't seem to stock them anymore.

Theres a trademark dispute in the EU with compass atm. Think the only option is to import them from US which isn't really worth it with postage costs.

it'd kill you to put 2x on there?!

This shop seems to be still selling them though: http://www.libertecycles.nl/producten/compasscycles/

Possibly a repost since it's a NAHBS bike but I haven't seen it posted before.
"Cameron Falconer of Falconer Cycles in San Francisco is another builder who cuts the frills and focuses on function: geometry, materials, build quality. This one is a 29" steel dirt touring bike he built for Matt Feeney of Pass and Stow Racks in Oakland, who builds custom steel racks."

Just a quick shout; I'm still looking for a used Tubus Tara/Smarti (or similar) front rack to cannabilise for a slimline rear rack project.
Would consider any condition - really just need the hoopy bit.

My two workhorses only a mother could love . My dodici probably deserves to be in the anti thread but who cares

• #15864

Actually, I think I might have been confused. If the quill measures 25.4mm OD then it's 1 1/8" isn't it?
-
• #15869
Yes. The quill for a 1" steerer in 22.2 mm OD.

What guards are people using to fit over big functional tyres? I'm on biggest SKS and still getting a lot of spray with 42 knards. No guards not an option as it's a 12 mile muddy commute with no shower!

Axiom roadrunners are like SKS and happily fit my 2.2" Schwalbe big bens. They were a 65c pair I think. @giofox88 is selling some ;)

I've been pondering this. On 45mm pdw at the minute but want to go bigger and knobblier on the tyres, but not at the expense of mudguarded commuting.
Saw this:
and asked the owner but all he had to say was 'Planet Bike 700c medium/wide' -

60mm Gilles Berthoud. I run 2" Kojacs currently, but I know they can fit a 1.9 Snow Stud and could probably squeeze a 2.2" depending on design. This is on 26" but shouldn't make a difference if your frame has enough clearance.
