You clearly don't work hard enough.
Either that, or you chose some pointless public sector role like a teacher, nurse or firefighter rather than deciding to contribute positively to society by forging a career in finance or being a slum landlord.

You sound like one of those down on your luck people who'd benefit greatly from a visit from a member of the royal family – so that you can become all giddy with hope and inspiration again.

So, my pay capped at 1% again. I think it's the 8th year now? It doesn't matter, I'll still continue to do the best I can, whilst learning the tech spec on ever changing equipment, plus taking on new roles with ever increasing levels of technical knowledge, whilst earning less than I was 10 years ago. Real money less, not just inflation money less. Oh, and my pension, that I have paid between 11-14odd% into for the last 28 years, that's fucked too. Oh, and instead of having to do the 30years that I signed up to, I'll have to do another 10 years to get that vastly reduced pension.
