Noted, but I was already only going about 5mph as it's pedestrianised, dude on the mtb was going considerably faster. The impact threw me and the bike back a good three metres.

I can't quite picture what has happened from your description. Did the person passing you hit you or just left you nowhere to move when someone else hit you?
Can you draw us a nice picture of it? -
• #17504
Also I'm just kidding about the brake. You do you man.

Okay, mine had to go sideways by about 11mm. It took me quite a while to do it ... after each adjustment reassembling and measuring. A frame builder would be in the best position to adjust forks, but as they are forks and there's no knowledge of any previous adjustments/bends, I doubt they'd want to certify or put their name to that work. I knew mine hadn't been bent before.

'Nice picture'
Hope that illustrates? Difficult to know if it'll make sense to others when it's so vivid in my own head, make sense? I kept thinking over and over, he'll manoeuvre, hold your line, as I slow motion collided with him.

Ok that's really reassuring. I'm pretty handy and my dad is even more, looking at it with less pissed off eyes it doesn't look that bad, maybe 10mm out.
Thanks -

I see, I see. What did mtb guy do after hitting you?

Hit the deck pretty hard, looked in a lot of pain. I didn't even know how bad my bike had come off as I was really concerned about his well being. I just left it where it fell and made sure he was ok. After a while he said sorry and left, i didn't really stop him as I had no idea my bike was fucked. Don't expect much good would have come from assigning blame anyway, his bike was proper junk, and I don't think he had much in the way of resources. Just a fucked up situation really.

Have you got his details? Strava fly by might help if you have that. shit way to start the week!

• #17511
Right. I'm sort of over it. Holdsworth is disassembled and ready to lug over to my dads, and I've rebuilt the rat bike so I have something to ride. It's not the same but it'll get me from a-b

Saw a woman on my way home riding a pink and teal bike, whilst wearing a pink and teal dress, with pink and teal hair.
Good effort.

Enjoyed my commute this morning until I notice some bloke in a Jaguar in Tottenham using horns nervously in the traffic, undertaking some cars in a fumingly manoeuvre only to end up couple of spots in front at the traffic light
I then stop next and in front of him at the traffic light. The guy goes completely ballistic at me, almost hitting the back of my bike. He then reaches my level and says i've got "no right to be in front of him". I then tell him if he carries on, he will injure someone, to which he says "No you're absolutely wrong".
I got to say i was quite tempted to hit his wing mirror.
Another bellend thinking he owns the road -

Roadsafe etc, he's likely to injure someone at some point.

What a pleb, fair play on keeping your cool deserve a medal. Dislike riding through Tottenham especially the A1010 aggressive/inconsiderate motorist central.

Dislike Tottenham
Same.

Consider Mario and Winston Vaz in Hither Green if the frame needs some professional love. I think Mario used to work in the Holdsworth factory.

Both of them

Given up on Tottenham.

Thanks dude. Incidentally the frame was repainted by Mario before I'd pickled it up. I think I'm going to store it and put it at the back of my mind for a bit, and tackle it once I've left well alone for a bit. I've got aspirations to build it up sympathetically, once the time is right.

Sorry to hear about the accident - hope you're ok, sorry about the bike.
Those forks were great as well. - Mario's brother will be able to fix it I'm sure.

Yeah the forks were my favourite feature of the frameset. I'm confident I can cold set them back though. The front wheel that I'd been pissed at for being built radially (specified two cross) buckled hard so im hopeful the brunt of the impact was absorbed there. I'll contact Mario, drop the frame off at seabass for evaluation and see where to go next.
Appreciate all the condolences too, I'd never gotten so much attention as when I was riding this frame! -
• #17523
Surprise safety feature, crumple zones in your wheels.

Got called a wanker for calling out a wanker for not stopping at a pedestrian crossing and nearly hitting the lady walking across (there was a car already stopped at the crossing letting her cross). Then watched him run a couple red lights ride down the pavement and cycle up a one way street the wrong way. WAC.

Got the full rooster tail spray in the face from a boardman CX riding commuter yesterday. Looked like a decent commuter bike but the 15 foot zone of dirty spray is a bit much. Now firmly in the mudguards as essential camp.
And buy a brake? :)
